Volvo Driving School

Another layout from Lego Land.. I'm still amazed that they made a full sized Lego vehicle.

The boys had fun driving around in mini Lego cars. Brayden took off to the other side of the course.. so I couldn't get many photos of him.

First Visit from the Tooth Fairy

So.. it might seem strange that I'm celebrating a "first lost tooth" when Carsyn is 11... but it really was the first tooth he has lost since joining our family.

Critter Blog Group - VSD Projects

VSD #4 Challenge #1

This challenge was brought to us by April.

I have never worked with acetate, so this was a fun challenge. It was also a learning experience as I cut the card the wrong way, so it doesn't sit up all that well. I do love the embellishments, they actually came from a border swap that I hosted ages ago, and I used the borders on another project, and had these left over. I thought they fit well on this card. If you created these wonderful embellishments, let me know I'd gladly give you the credit you deserve.

Here are the instructions she gave us.

Here is the tutorial on SCS~acetate card
If you need some more inspiration....(check out April's fabulous card!!)...here is the gallery FULL of ideas~acetate gallery

This card can be any theme you want it to be and you can make it any way you want it. You don't even need to stamp on the acetate directly if you don't have the right kind of ink. Once you look through the gallery you will see many ideas and variations on how to use this awesome stuff.

VSD #4 Challenge #2

CHALLENGE #2 was brought to us by Melina.

She gave us a color challenge for you with a theme twist...

Colors were: Chocolate Chip, More Mustard, Old Olive, Basic gray, Very Vanilla

Now for the theme twist. We had to make it a masculine card.

We also had to use pewter or silver embellishments.

What is not to love about Changito. I love this stamp - so versatile, can change it to fit any colour scheme. I used lots of layers, my friend Jennifer just recently stopped blogging, and I'm sad because she was an amazing card maker. She inspired me to use lots of layers, and while I didn't use as many as she does... I got close. (I honestly used to count her layers - it just fascinated me.. weird I know!) So.. Jennifer.. if you are reading this.. thanks for the inspiration!!

VSD #4 Challenge #3 GET INSPIRED!!

AnnMarie is so inspiring, I just love that she is even doing it through her challenge.

Here is her challenge.... Get Inspired!!

We were to create something for ourselves!! We had to figure out a goal and create a piece of art work that you can display in your craft space that will provide you with daily inspiration! One of my latest goals is to drink more water. I just plain and simple do not drink enough water. So.. I am also on a mission to use up my scraps, extra pieces etc. So I made this little sign completely out of scraps. The letters were extras from when I made millions of LOTWs... okay maybe not millions, but literally a thousand or so.

It is simple, but I like how colourful it is. I like that it also reminds me to use my scraps -even though that isn't the direct message conveyed.

VSD #4 Challenge #4

Sunday's first challenge was designed by Nancy.
Since the 4th of July is getting close, the theme is going to be Stars and Stripes with a twist. The twist is that your card must be some shape other than the traditional square or rectangle.

Also, so we Canadian peeps can play along, we did not have to use red, white or blue. The only requirement was that there be Stars and Stripes and the card must be some other shape than a traditional square or rectangle.

I received this glitter paper from a blog candy win. I used "A Child's Year" Cricut cartridge to cut out the butterfly card. It is little only 4 inches... so I just added the two "star" brads. The "sparkle" is from SU.

VSD #4 Challenge #5

Next up was a challenge from Melanie.

Christmas in July (???)
Our challenge was to create a Christmas card. That is it, nothing special required. NVR, just please try to use a minimum of 1 stamped image on your card.

I just love this Polar Bear from Imaginisce. I also used the "branch" punch from Martha Steward to make the "snowflakes". The patterned paper is also from Imaginisce. I wrapped a piece of fiber around the card. The "Merry Christmas" stamp was from Studio G.

Closing!!!! VSD #4

So, Melanie was just supposed to say good bye.. but she added a challenge... well I didn't read that post until 4:30...(30 minutes before our posts were due) ... so I quickly whipped up a card. It is missing something.. probably a sentiment, but I thought it came out good considering I did it in 20 minutes.

We had to create a card using this sketch:

Paper is all from my scrap bucket. Added a thin piece of brown ribbon. I love this stamp... which I received in a card kit, I had to search who it is by when I first got it... and forget now. Oops!

Science World

We took the kids to Vancouver for a bit of a vacation in the summer of 2008.

We went to Science World and had a blast. I'm sure we could have spent a couple of days there really exploring.

Critter Challenge Blog - Challenge #19

Well I hope you all had a wonderful Father's Day weekend. We sure did in our household.

Here is my card... I've been working on some Christmas layouts and had my Christmas bucket out so I thought why not start my Christmas cards early.

This weeks sketch is brought to you by Kelly Haberstroh. Kelly is a great girl, I met her through Splitcoast Stampers as she and I are in the same blog group. She is very talented, please take a peek at her wonderful blog.

You can use this sketch as a pocket card or you can use it as a regular card and just use the basic design/layout for your card front. It is preferred for this weeks challenge to be created as a card.

Our sponsor for the month is Soft Pencil. Their images are so totally adorable.

Remember you don't have to use a Soft Pencil image, but of course if you have one we would love to see it. :)

We hope that you will head on over to the Critter Challenge Blog and enter your creation for a chance to win our monthly draw. Every time you play with us you get a chance to win from our fabulous sponsor.

Please don't forget to post your creation to your blog and link back to the Critter Challenge Blog.

More From Goofy's Kitchen

I honestly think this evening was my favourite memory of our trip to Disneyland. We had such a fun time interacting with the characters. We were one of the last tables left in the restaurant so we got lots of time with all of the characters.

Goofy seemed to love my husband.. he pretended to pierce his ear because my hubby had an ear piercing, he shined my hubby's head.. and just all around had a fun time!

Anaheim Angels

Last summer on our trip to Disneyland, we took in a baseball game. It was the boys very first major league baseball game. It was the hottest day of our trip but lots of fun.

BC Lions Experience.. part 2

Another set of layouts... I just couldn't do these photos in just a couple of pages.. it was such a fun, once in a life time experience.

BC Lions Experience

The next couple of posts I will be showing you some layouts that I did that show cased an "Experience of a Lifetime" that we had in the summer of 2008. My hubby had been purchasing season's tickets for a few years... and facilitating selling tickets through his work, one year he managed 3 sets of season's tickets. That year, the ticket rep arranged for us to bring the boys to a game and have a cool experience. He greeted us outside with a ton of gifts.. took us through the official BC Lions' entrance and we got to watch the warm up from the field. We then, got to sit in his personal seats. It was very cool!!

Critter Challenge Blog - Challenge #17

Sorry this is late! I had it set to post for tomorrow morning... had my dates wrong!!!

Can you believe that the Critter Challenge Blog has been going for 17 weeks... seems like just yesterday I was welcomed as a DT member for this fabulous new blog. Well, here we are, 17 weeks later and we are excited to have a new DT... you will recognize some of us, but there are quite a few "new" members as well. Now, these girls are obviously not new to the paper crafting world... so make sure you stop by and see their fabulous creations as well!

Not only are we on a new challenge, with a new DT... we are on a new month, which means a new sponsor Soft Pencil. I absolutely love their images... so cute!!!

Anyways...... on to this week's challenge....... please create a child's birthday card. This can be for any age child (baby through to teen), but it should be child birthday related. We would love to see your Soft Pencil images but it's not required. Even though we have sponsors, we always have no vendor restrictions!!

We hope that you will head on over to the Critter Challenge Blog
and enter your creation for a chance to win our monthly draw. Every time you play with us you get a chance to win from our fabulous sponsor.
