Critter Challenge #42 - Sketch!
Well, I am soooooo sorry this is late. I actually had this done early last week, but forgot to schedule it too post!
This is our last challenge for November, which means it is your last chance to score some loot from our fantastic sponsor Stamp and Create. Please make sure you check them out.
This week... at Critter Sketch Challenge Blog our challenge to you is............ a sketch!
Here is my take on the sketch...
The 'circle' is actually a ship's wheel that I cut from Life's a Beach. It is the symbol of our hockey organization and thought it made perfect sense to swap the circle for the wheel. This is Brayden's very first hockey picture. You can tell by the smile on his face that he's super proud!!
So.. how do you think I did... here's the sketch we were to follow... instead of the flowers, I used peal and stick letters to spell out the name of his hockey team!
Don't forget to swing by our sponsor Stamp and Create for great deals!

Critter Challenge #40 - Texture!
Welcome to another fun week at Critter Sketch Challenge Blog!! This week... our challenge to you is............
Texture it! (Fun Flock, Liquid applique, Stickles, Liquid pearls, and Embossing powders)
This challenge, when I first read it, I thought it would be easy... but it did challenge me - which is what I love about participating in challenge blogs.
These pictures are from our 2009 trip to California. We spent an entire day at Universal Studios.. much to my dismay, my kids are huge Simpsons fans... so I played along when they tried on the "Marge" wigs.. my hubby however chickened out!
My "textures" are I stamped the title with Versamark and then heat embossed with blue embossing powder. I also used Sook Wang, or Score Tape on some cardstock and then punched the stars, with my new favourite Jolee's punch. I then peeled the backing and rubbed Ultra Fine 'Cool' glitter on them. They don't photograph well, but let me tell you.. they sparkle!!
Make sure you check out our sponsor.. Stamp and Create they are a fabulous second time sponsor and will be providing our November winner with a great prize at the end of the month!

Our First House
My hubby and I bought our first house together almost 5 years ago. It is a large townhouse and while we'd like more room with our growing boys.. it is home.
I but out one of the houses and popped it up along the bottom and also took a little group of trees and popped those up too. The matting was done with the other side of the patterned paper.. so this is a pretty cheap layout .. the background is a sheet of Bazzill and the letters are stickers from American Crafts - something I got from www.scrapbooksteals.com

Critter Challenge #38
Well.. is time ever flying by fast. The challenge at Critter Sketch Challenge Blog this week really made me realize just how fast it is going.. before we know it, Christmas will be here. I really need to get shopping!! I'm normally done by September, but since the boys came that just doesn't seem to happen anymore!
So.... in case you didn't catch it.. our challenge to you this week is to use the theme of Christmas.... here is my layout.. "Christmas with the Keehn's". We are spoiled at Christmas, as my husband's side of the family does their big turkey dinner on Christmas Eve and then we do a big turkey dinner with my family on Christmas Day... usually at my sister's house as it is the biggest. Of course since I'm the one taking the pictures I'm not in there.. but I managed to get everyone else.. even Tequilla the cat joined the festivities... although she wasn't too impressed with having to wear the paper hat that was in the Christmas cracker!
I'm really not sure why all of the squares look crooked.. I painstakingly measured and lined them up.. I'm thinking that maybe it is because of the inking... they don't look crooked in real life!
The green paper is all Jilly Bean Soup - from last year. The dark brown is Bazzil and the base is Kraft. I cut the title from my new Gypsy (that I won), and used the Gypsy font.
Make sure you check out our sponsor.. Stamp and Create they are a fabulous second time sponsor and will be providing our November winner with a great prize at the end of the month!
