Rockband!

So, I have challenged myself to try and keep up with my 2010 scrapbooking. So far I haven't done too bad. Here is a quick and easy swap layout. I changed a few things, added the chipboard circle and added the photos.... took all of about 10 minutes.. most of the time looking for the chipboard that I knew I had just didn't know where!

These are from my darling teenager's thirteenth sleep over party!

Smores!!

Who doesn't love S'Mores when you are camping?!?

Used some more of the 1000s of LOTWS that I have.. for the title of this one.

Doing this layout really made me want to go camping. While I was working on it my DH walked in and I made him set a date when we are going.... come on August! :)

CCBG Challenge #20

Here is my entry into my blog groups challenge.

We were challenged to go green.

Here are the rules:
Are you "green with envy"?
Do you Reduce, Reuse, Recycle?
Or maybe, you have "the Luck o'the Irish"?
The specifics of this challenge are simple: show us how you go green!

I chose the "Recycle" aspect of the challenge. The ribbon I used came off a gift set I received a couple of years ago. I was even saving ribbon BEFORE I started scrapbooking!

As most of the elements of this card came from a card kit... here's what I know that I used..

Image - Geisha Anya .... coloured with my Bic Mark-Its
The orange DP is Stampin Up - don't know the specific colour name tho.
The yellow card base is Coredinations
All of the embellishments were from my stash.

Entered in the following challenges:
Mojo Monday - Sketch
Lexi's Creations - Anything Goes
Your Next Stamp Challenges - Spring Colours

Brayden at the Pumpkin Patch

These pics are from our visit to the pumpkin patch in 2009. It is always such a fun day!

The border set came from a swap. I only used one of the borders, but I think it works. If you made this border set, let me know so I can give you credit.

Yet another Snow Day Layout

So... can you tell what I've been working on?!? Haha... hope you aren't too bored of all my snowy pictures!

These page came from a swap, but I totally changed it around. The embellishment didn't work for this page, so I used my UnDu... have I mentioned how much I LOVE this stuff... took the embelly off, saved it for another layout and added pretty much all of my own stuff. The only thing that was left of the original page was the strip of patterned paper across the middle. I added the journal box, photo mats and the little deco squares came from a swap from a group that I'm no longer in.

I love how this turned out!

Same pictures.. different swap layout!

Snow Day 2008

As you can tell I took a ton of pictures on this snow day. I couldn't narrow them down to just one or two layouts. I really felt that the pictures needed to stand alone.

I love these four pictures of the kids. I had a 5x7 made of each individual kid and then 4x6s for the other three. For these two pages I used a kit that I bought from the Memory Workshop. I had the opportunity to meet Sandra, the owner, when I attended the BC Scrapbooking Crop for Kids event in Vancouver in October 2009.

This kit is really fabulous. It includes enough paper to do two, double page layouts, with all the instructions and embellishments included. By adding my own bases, there are instructions to do 4 more pages, and realistically, I think you could easily get another four pages out of all of the paper. Totally worth the money.

Snow Day

Here is a layout that I did for a swap ages ago. I was smart and made two extras so that I would have them for my kids' books.

I used a snowflake border punch to embellish the photo mat and journal box and then used the tiny snowflakes that were punched out to embellish the page.

Snow Day 3 Ways

Here is the same layout, the only difference is the background paper.

I made this four different times, one for each kids' book. I used the same paper for both of my boys' books.

I found this picture and the paper tucked in to folder that I must have taken to a crop. So I pulled them out and got to work.

Two more border sets.. I actually mixed and matched these.. and didn't use all of the parts. But I think they came out looking great.

For whatever reason, I don't have a picture of just Carsyn with Mickey. Strange!!

VSD 2 Challenge #4

Kelly challenged us to use a specific layout for our card.

I found this Riley image coloured and mounted on the green and striped paper. Not sure why I didn't finish a card with it the first time, but oh well it worked out perfectly for this challenge. I found some more of the green and striped paper in my scrap bucket. I edged everything in "Tempting Turquoise". I also added some green brads, some turquoise bling. I also stamped the SU "live like you mean it" sentiment in Tempting Turquoise.

I loved this layout!

Don't you just love Riley.

Pluto

Yet another fabulous layout created by Nancy (nhagen). Splitcoast definitely has a ton of creative scrappers!

I love how easy these swap pages go together... measure the photos, cut, stick, done!

VSD 2 Challenge #2

Next up.. fellow Crafty Critter Melina challenged us

Use Something...

Old ~ We all have those embellishments that we're hoarding or that paper we've put back that we never get out because it's so special. Pull out those older items to create something wonderful.

New ~ I know you have something you purchased recently that you can't wait to try. Incorporate it into your project.

Borrowed ~ I know what you're thinking. How can I use something borrowed on my project? My idea behind this is using something you were given by a fellow crafter. It just needs to be something you DID NOT purchase yourself.

Blue ~ Incorporate something blue on your creation!

Old - the button.. I've had these for ages!!
New - the ribbon, the blue swiss dot bazzill
Borrowed - the punch to make the flowers - it belongs to my mom.. the stamp was also given to me by my mom
Blue - well.. I think you can see!

Also using this card for the following challenges....
Creative Belli Blog - # 84 - Ribbon
Allsorts Challenge Blog - #38 - Distressed with buttons and a bow
Tellen's Place - Challenge #4 - Tic Tac Toe - I chose Ribbons, Punch, Buttons
Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge Monochrome tones of white and one other colour
Pile It On - No more winter colours
ABC Challenge - N is for New

VSD 2 Challenge #1

My fellow Crafty Critter challenged us to make a card with only one layer of paper. The trick, it had to have the illusion of layers.

This was a big challenge for me... I don't like cards that don't have a "face"... but being a good sport, I played along.

I used white as my base and created a faux edge around the card by making a frame using some strips of paper from my recycling bag! Layed the frame on the card and inked over top. I did it messy on purpose to match the "sketchy" feel of the dragonfly.

What you can't see on the card is I also embossed over the ink. I also used my Stampamajig from Stampin' Up to stamp the Happy Birthday in the Orchid Opulence ink and then restamped my versamark over it so I could emboss it as well. Sorry it doesn't show up - but provides a definite layer in person. I added some Prima Flowers and called it done.

Not my most favourite card, but I think it works for a one layer card!

Crafty Critter Blog Group Challenge #18

This week, fellow Crafty Critter, Leslie challenged us to make a card with the following rules...

It's the 3 Challenge...Challenge #18!!!!
1. It can be any kind of boy card...in honor of those boys who are playing football on Sunday. 2. Plus you have to incorporate at least two other challenges from other blogs of your choice. 3. Don't use any bling on your card...boys don't like sparkly things...unless of course your a vampire:)

So my nephew, Dougie is having a birthday on Valentine's Day, so I thought who better than to make a card for this "boy card" challenge.

Dougie LOVES to play hockey, and his team colours are orange, black and white.

The challenges that I used from the following blogs:

Splendid Stamping Sketch - you were supposed to use their image, I didn't, but really liked the sketch!

MyGrafico Challenge #34 - Metal
- I used a metal skate brad.

Sorry about the crooked "Happy Birthday" I dropped the stamp.. so that's were it ended up! OOooops!!!

Disney Dining

We had a fabulous time at Goofy's Kitchen. You'll be seeing more layouts from this night, it was so much fun and we got so many great pictures that I need to make at least 3 more layouts!

These two pages came from totally different swaps. The first page was a single page layout. I don't know who created it, so let me know if you know!

This second page was a border set created by Lorrie, (Cre8tingMemories) on Splitcoast. She's just so talented!

Mickey and Minnie's House

I so love this layout created by SCS friend Nancy (nhagen). I had taken just the right amount of pictures in each house to fit these layouts. They are simple, yet tell the whole story.

Californina Adventure

Here is a simple layout that was super easy to do. I just let my LOTWs (California Adventure) be the embellishments, matted the photo, from our Disney Photopass and it was done. This took less than 5 minutes to create.

LOTWs were a bit of a swapping craze in the fall, I literally did over a 1000 different letters for all sorts of themes... of course I did a TON of Disney ones.

If you don't know what a LOTW is, it stands for Letter of the Word, and the idea is that you complete one letter and send it in to a hostess who then gathers all of the letters from all of the swap participants and organizes so that you get the complete word (or words) back. They are super quick and easy, but oh so very addicting!!!

Magical

This is one of my favourite Disney layouts, not only because it is a beautiful layout, but because of the pictures on it.

Last summer when we were headed to Disneyland, I found out that one of the ladies I regularly swap with (on Splitcoast) was going to be in Disneyland at the same time. We made arrangements to meet up. It truly was a "Splitcoast" meeting as Michelle and her family had come from the East coast, and we live on the West coast!

The best part of this layout is Michelle (Shelly Suit from Splitcoast) created this layout. Having not seen Tink when we were in Disneyland, I wasn't sure that I was going to be able to use this layout for this trip .. but when I was going through my pictures I saw this and remembered that Tink had dropped in for our photo... I thought that there were no better pictures to use than these.
