Critter Challenge #44 - No Patterned Paper!

No Patterned Paper

My layout.... Kraft cardstock, Coredinations cardstock, DMC Floss for the stitching (thanks mom for finishing it for me.. I started it and quickly learned that my hand just doesn't have the capacity to do stuff like that anymore). The font I think is Lyrical Letters.

December's fabulous monthly sponsor..........

Don't forget to check out their freebie for the week posted every Friday... this week's is super hilarious.. I'm going to make one of them into a card for my boys... they'll get a good laugh!

Basketball LOTW Layout

I got addicted to these LOTW swaps. LOTW stands for Letter Of The Word... I literally did over 1000 different letters for all sorts of words. I haven't used many of them because I got SOOOO sick of seeing them. I have made a promise to myself to get using them though.. so here is a basketball layout for Carsyn. He took part in a Basketball camp over Spring Break.

More Christmas Swaps...

More quick and easy swap pages..... One thing I love about swaps is how fast you can get pictures onto a page. They go together so quick and easy and you feel so accomplished!

Here is my hubby catching a cat nap after a yummy Christmas dinner.

Uncle Bob teaching Dougie how to play his new guitar.

This was supposed to be a two page border set... but I turned it into one. I love that Peace & Joy & Love cut out!
I always seem to include a picture of the cat of the house. Here Callie (RIP) is making sure she gets her photo taken.
My husband's cousins always come up on Boxing Day.

Christmas Swap Pages

When I first started swapping on Splitcoast.. I joined a Christmas swap... I got back a ton of great pages, and border sets. For the next few days I'll be sharing these swaps. If you created them, please let me know and I'll be more than happy to give you credit.

This was from my hubby and I's first Christmas in our own house.

Pictures of my nieces on my husband's side of the family.

One of our nieces... and two cousins! I really love this page!!

My brother in law surprised my mother in law with a gorgeous ring. She was so shocked!

Coward Family Christmas Tree 2010

Here is the Coward family Christmas tree for 2010.

I just love our tree.. I love that the ornaments all mean something special to us. They may not match.. but the match us. We have soccer balls, footballs, hockey pucks, police dogs, ambulances, teacher themed, penguins etc.

We all pick an ornament to put on the tree first.

Butch went first and put Shrek and Fiona... we dressed up as Shrek and Fiona for Halloween one year... and we've likened ourselves to them ever since!

Next I went.. and I love this little ornament that my mom bought us the first year we were together.

Up next was Brayden.. this year he chose to put his Canuck's snowman up... the boy loves his hockey!

And last.. but certainly not least was Carsyn... who.. with no surprise put the football ornament that he got last year on the tree.

This layout was received in a swap.. I just love it.. it's so me!

Critter Challenge #42 - Sketch!

Well, I am soooooo sorry this is late. I actually had this done early last week, but forgot to schedule it too post!

This is our last challenge for November, which means it is your last chance to score some loot from our fantastic sponsor Stamp and Create. Please make sure you check them out.

This week... at Critter Sketch Challenge Blog our challenge to you is............ a sketch!

Here is my take on the sketch...

The 'circle' is actually a ship's wheel that I cut from Life's a Beach. It is the symbol of our hockey organization and thought it made perfect sense to swap the circle for the wheel. This is Brayden's very first hockey picture. You can tell by the smile on his face that he's super proud!!

So.. how do you think I did... here's the sketch we were to follow... instead of the flowers, I used peal and stick letters to spell out the name of his hockey team!

Don't forget to swing by our sponsor Stamp and Create for great deals!

Critter Challenge #40 - Texture!

Welcome to another fun week at Critter Sketch Challenge Blog!! This week... our challenge to you is............

Texture it! (Fun Flock, Liquid applique, Stickles, Liquid pearls, and Embossing powders)

This challenge, when I first read it, I thought it would be easy... but it did challenge me - which is what I love about participating in challenge blogs.

These pictures are from our 2009 trip to California. We spent an entire day at Universal Studios.. much to my dismay, my kids are huge Simpsons fans... so I played along when they tried on the "Marge" wigs.. my hubby however chickened out!

My "textures" are I stamped the title with Versamark and then heat embossed with blue embossing powder. I also used Sook Wang, or Score Tape on some cardstock and then punched the stars, with my new favourite Jolee's punch. I then peeled the backing and rubbed Ultra Fine 'Cool' glitter on them. They don't photograph well, but let me tell you.. they sparkle!!

Make sure you check out our sponsor.. Stamp and Create they are a fabulous second time sponsor and will be providing our November winner with a great prize at the end of the month!

Our First House

My hubby and I bought our first house together almost 5 years ago. It is a large townhouse and while we'd like more room with our growing boys.. it is home.

I but out one of the houses and popped it up along the bottom and also took a little group of trees and popped those up too. The matting was done with the other side of the patterned paper.. so this is a pretty cheap layout .. the background is a sheet of Bazzill and the letters are stickers from American Crafts - something I got from www.scrapbooksteals.com

Critter Challenge #38

Well.. is time ever flying by fast. The challenge at Critter Sketch Challenge Blog this week really made me realize just how fast it is going.. before we know it, Christmas will be here. I really need to get shopping!! I'm normally done by September, but since the boys came that just doesn't seem to happen anymore!

So.... in case you didn't catch it.. our challenge to you this week is to use the theme of Christmas.... here is my layout.. "Christmas with the Keehn's". We are spoiled at Christmas, as my husband's side of the family does their big turkey dinner on Christmas Eve and then we do a big turkey dinner with my family on Christmas Day... usually at my sister's house as it is the biggest. Of course since I'm the one taking the pictures I'm not in there.. but I managed to get everyone else.. even Tequilla the cat joined the festivities... although she wasn't too impressed with having to wear the paper hat that was in the Christmas cracker!

I'm really not sure why all of the squares look crooked.. I painstakingly measured and lined them up.. I'm thinking that maybe it is because of the inking... they don't look crooked in real life!

The green paper is all Jilly Bean Soup - from last year. The dark brown is Bazzil and the base is Kraft. I cut the title from my new Gypsy (that I won), and used the Gypsy font.

Make sure you check out our sponsor.. Stamp and Create they are a fabulous second time sponsor and will be providing our November winner with a great prize at the end of the month!

Blog Group Challenge - Competing Princesses

So here is our latest installment in my blog groups challenge. This is the last entry for this round, and I really hope we do it again. It was so much fun.

Sorry I'm a few days late, but we've had no internet all week... Thank goodness I had set up a few things before hand to post so that my blog wasn't so lonely.

Our sender this month was AnnMarie.... don't you just love this fantastic punch art that she created.. the poodle is soo cute!

I added the beige back ground and the white layers. I realized after I had put the card together that I had dropped the ribbon on the floor. Sorry AM!

Lego!!

Here are a couple more of my quick and easy layouts from our trip last summer. The Lego paper is printed with the yellow legos down the side and it is also embossed you you can feel the raised dots all over the paper - very cool!

The larger than life size Lego is actually in Downtown Disney and the gigantic Einstein head was at Legoland.

Jungle Cruise

Received these pages in a Disney swap I hosted on Splitcoast Stampers.

There were created by "Shelly Suit". It was very cool to actually meet here while both of our families were at Disneyland.

Critter Challenge #36

Hey folks.. thanks for swinging by and checking out my post.. unfortunately my internet at home has gone down, and we've managed to find a very low, unsecured internet line that has allowed me to sneak on my hubby's computer - its is the only one that is picking up the internet.

I'll get this updated tomorrow at work, but wanted to try and at least have the photo uploaded.

Please make sure you check out the Critter Sketch Challenge Blog.

Take Him Down

So.. Brayden loved the idea of playing football, but didn't love the whole physical aspect of it.

However last season he played, but didn't do a whole lot.

I was so stoked to get this tackle on film!

More Disney Pages

So these aren't my most favourite pieces of work.. but I really feel that sometimes we need to just slap a layout together. They can't all be fancy pages... at least not in my world. For one thing.. I can't afford to do fancy layouts every single time. My sister and I call the fancy layouts $10 pages... and if every page cost me $10.. I wouldn't be a scrapbooker.

Giraffes

I love this DCVW stack.. it's called Safari Kids and the paper is fabulous. Much of it is glittered and it just perfect for our trip to San Diego Zoo.. I used the same paper back a week or so ago when I did the layout of the elephants.

Paper is all DCVW except the mats, which is Bazzill. The border is matted on Bazzill as are the little squares. The squares have been popped up. Everything has been inked with Versa - Pine Cone.. have I mentioned lately how I love this little ink pad for adding a little bit of texture to the edges of my mats.

Whalers Hockey

A quick and easy layout to showcase some of Brayden's hockey pictures.

I love the printed paper that looks like the hockey rink.

More from the NHL Legends

I'm not sure why I can't just scrap one set of pages from any event that we go to... or any event for that matter. I always seem to have at least 4 pages, usually more of the same event. I mean I've already done 110 pages (for each boy - a total of 220) from our Disney trip in 2009 and I'm still not even close to being done.. I've got 500 photos from our ONE day at Universal Studios that I want to scrap. I desperately need to learn how to cull photos!

Anyone have any tips? I'd love to hear them.

RCMP VS NHL Legends

Here are some pictures from when our local RCMP hockey team played the NHL legends. It was so cool to see some of my heroes up close and in person.
