Critter Challenge Blog - Challenge #23 - Mom's Cricut Christmas

This week at the Critter Challenge Blog not only do we have a sketch for you to follow, but a theme as well! Our theme is Christmas in July.
You all know I prefer to scrapbook, so when I saw the theme I was excited... I was a little nervous about the sketch, but I think I did okay!

This picture was from Christmas 2008, when my boys (hubby of course did the buying) surprised me with a Cricut. I had been hinting very loudly!! The boys were so proud, and of course I was soooo excited!!!

Funny part about this layout.. I didn't use my Cricut to make anything for it!

I copied the little Cricut guys from one of my Cricut reward certificates... and then cut them out, corner rounded them and matted them on some white cardstock.

The letters are cardstock stickers from American Crafts - Remarks - they are called "Smokey Joe's" - cute name!

The red cardstock is Coordinations and the green is unknown.. my mom threw it across the table at me.. hehe.. might be SU... but not 100% positive.

The stamp came from Robyn's Fetish - our fabulous July sponsor. The best thing about digital stamps is that you can resize them to suit your needs. This tree measures 4 inches by 5.5 inches. I Stickled the ornaments and star. I absolutely love this tree and know that it will be in my boys' scrapbooks many times.

Californa Adventure "O"

The boys thought it was so cool that they could climb in the giant "O" in California that is just outside the gates to California Adventure.

I had done these pages for a swap and made a set for myself.

Papa Bear Said ...

I've had this photo kicking around for a while.. I just love it, but really wanted to do something different. One day I was teaching, and we did drama and I had the kids act out Goldie Locks and the Three Bears. It was tons of fun.. I came home, saw this picture sitting on my desk and knew that I had to use the line from that story...

I absolutely love this page.. and my hubby does too! :)

Bear cut from Camping Solutions
Chair cut from Life's A Beach

IHOP

During our Vancouver vacation in 2008, we met up with Auntie Sally for breakfast.. she lives right near an IHOP so we thought we would go there. The boys had never been and we let them have whatever they wanted.... their eyes were definitely bigger than their stomachs!

Mud Bowl!

Last year Carsyn's development soccer team went to the Mud Bowl in Port McNeill and it wasn't a "mud bowl", the weather was windy, but beautiful. This year - a totally different story. We now understand why they call it a "Mud Bowl".

However the outcomes were the same, they won both years!

"2010" cut from Graphically Speaking

Carsyn's Development Soccer

Carsyn loves soccer, and plays on a development team. For this game, we traveled to Comox. We ended up losing, but it was a great game. As the journaling says, this was Carsyn's first game back after suffering a head injury in October. He played as hard as always. Such an active kid!!

The paper I received in a swap, the "Soccer" title was cut from the Soccer Cricut Solutions Cartridge and the "Play Hard" was cut from the Graphically Speaking Cartridge.

Critter Challenge Blog - Challenge #21

Last summer we got together and took a bunch of family photos. This is from my husband's side of the family. This is his mom, and all seven grand kids. I added seven stars, and seven pearls to represent each kid. They range in age from 19 down to my son who is 11.

I couldn't believe I found this paper (which matched the tone of paper I've been scrapping all of the family photos in).. best part.. it has little stars all on the paper. So

Close up so see the little stars.

This week our challenge is to use STARS!!! The only requirement this week is to make a creation using a minimum of four stars.

We hope that you will head on over to the Critter Challenge Blog and enter your creation for a chance to win our monthly draw. Every time you play with us you get a chance to win from our fabulous sponsor. This month's generous sponsor is Robyn's Fetish make sure you check out her fabulous digital stamps!

Mom's Scrapbooking

So.. I didn't make this layout.. my mom did... but it is pictures of me!

My mom said she would never start scrapbooking (she's a card maker), but we finally convinced her. Her very first layout was this one.. of me when I was 12!

I think she did well!!

Brother vs Brother

In the "Spring Soccer" season, the boys ended up in the same division. But due to the fact that Carsyn is a serious soccer player, and Brayden plays for fun.. I didn't want them on the same team. We thought it was funny that the first game of the season pitted the two brothers against each other. Brayden's team won!
