Critter Challenge #62

Today is a sad day for me. This will be my final post as a Design Team member. I have been a member since Melanie started the Critter Sketch Challenge Blog over a year ago. I have had fun making scrapbook pages based on whatever Challenge we were given. I did make a couple of cards.. but out of the 30+ challenges that I was a DT for there weren't many!

I hope that I have been able to give some inspiration that sketches designed for cards can also be made into full page layouts.

I want to thank Melanie and April for the fantastic opportunity to serve as a member of their Design Team for so long. Hopefully someday I'll be back!

On to today's challenge. We were given a sketch, from DT Crystal. Of course I had to make it into a layout. This was a similar sketch to one a few weeks back where I had done an 8x8 page for my boys' little brother who was adopted at birth and whom they found out about when we adopted them. They haven't met him yet, but plans are in the works. Anyways... I used a similar colour scheme and similar picture for another 8x8 layout for the album I'm creating for him.

Sorry the colour is so crappy, but my Nikon is being repaired and I loaned my back up camera to my niece and haven't gotten it back.. so this was taken with my cell phone!

Totally love Dustin Pike's images!!!

Paper Princess Challenge

In my blog group, the Paper Princesses, Nancy challenged us to use a sketch (see below) and come up with a creation. Well you all know I'm all about the scrapbook pages.. so here is what I came up with.

Supplies:
~Background paper and blue patterned paper, both Bella Blvd. (Camped Out).
~The brown square and photo mat are from the back side of a 3 Bugs in a Rug (Island Waves).
~White is from my stash - pretty sure it was an insert from a new scrapbook album... gotta love that you get 10 pieces of white paper every time you buy a new album (and I recently bought a TON of new albums).
~Ribbon - Offray - pretty sure it was a cheap roll from either Walmart or Michaels.
~ Let the Sunshine In tag - My Mind's Eye (Breaking Free)
~Chipboard flower and brad were from my stash.

I tried to link back directly to the post - but couldn't seem to do it.. so this was from a post dated March 27, 2011.

Make sure you check out Practical Scrappers Bella Blvd. give-a-way!!

Nothing Prettier than a Sunset.

This was a sunset from the front door of our home. We live in such a beautiful part of the world.. I just love how I could capture something so gorgeous out my front door.

Critter Challenge #60

So.. it is another week over at the Critter Sketch Challenge Blog. This week we were to follow a sketch provided by our own Colleen.. not only is she super crafty with her creations.. she's a fantastic sketch designer as well. I love that it has been super easy for me to switch her "card" sketches into layouts.

A little explanation about the layout since I didn't journal on it. I probably will sometime - but just couldn't figure out where to put it. So.. these are my two brother in laws. They are the husbands of my DH's sisters. So, they both leaned into me to kiss me and said "Welcome to the Outlaws".. so the three of us are all the "in laws" of the family and they called themselves the outlaws instead. Super funny and definitely one of the moments I remember about our wedding day.

Supplies:
Patterned Paper: the Strips are DCVW (Glitter Stack), the large square is from the dollar store.
Cardstock: Black and Grey is Coredinations, Red Bazzill, White from my stash
Bling: Kaisercraft
Letters - Cut with the Cricut, Font - Black Letter at 2 inches, welded with my Gypsy.

Here is the Sketch... please see the Critter Sketch Challenge Blog post to share your creation with us!!

Hope you play along with us this week our final week for this month's fantastic sponsor! Make sure you check out...

I totally love this picture of Carsyn bearing down on his opponent... he would go on to make the tackle!

Love this paper from We R Memory Keepers - I bought the paper stack and I'm slowly but surely working my way through it!

Creations with Courtney

I love it when I my niece comes to visit - we always do something crafty. These pics were from the last time she was here and she created all of these - with a little help of course!
